Recently, a customer inquired about the price of polypropylene flat wire rope. The customer usually uses polyethylene rope, but the polyethylene rope is delicate and easy to loosen after knotting. The advantage of flat wire rope is that the single wire of the rope is rough and the knotting is not easy to slip.
However, polypropylene weighs more than polyethylene. Theoretically, the molecular formula of propylene is ch3ch2ch3 and that of ethylene is ch3ch3. Polypropylene has one more carbon atom than polyethylene. Therefore, the rope made of polypropylene weighs more than polyethylene,.

It can be seen from the structure that polypropylene has one more branch chain than polyethylene. After making the rope, due to the function of the branch chain, the polypropylene rope has stronger tension than polyethylene, and the knot is not easy to slip.
Polyethylene rope is more flexible and smooth than polypropylene, and feels more flexible.
The density of polypropylene is 0.91 and that of polyethylene is 0.93, so it should be heavier than that of polyethylene.
